In intermodal transportation, the cargo remains in the same loading unit (container, swap body) throughout the entire transportation process. This minimizes handling cost, time and damage risk at transfer points. SEGALOG offers both cost and carbon footprint advantages with road + rail intermodal solutions, especially on the Turkey-Europe route.

Why intermodal?

Rail transportation provides up to 75% CO₂ savings compared to road. With our regular intermodal combi train services from Turkey to Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Italy, we both protect the environment and provide protection from fuel cost fluctuations. Train transit time is competitive with road.

In container intermodal transportation, we organize direct services from Turkish terminals such as Marmaray, Halkalı, Köseköy to inland terminals in Europe (Wels, Wuppertal, Curtici, Trieste). Our customers obtain concrete carbon reduction figures in both cost and ESG reporting.
